Sundays – 2 – 4 pm

 
Historic Environment Scotland has closed Scalloway Castle until further notice for essential conservation work.

Getting Here

By Bus - From Lerwick take bus number 4 (starting from the Viking Bus Station) to Scalloway.  Get off at Scalloway Hall, Berry Road. The museum is a short 5-minute walk down Lang Clos, left on Main Street and then along New Street.  Use the castle as your landmark.​ Bus timetables can be found on the link below or you can download the Shetland Travel Information iOS App from here.
​By Car  - From Lerwick follow the signs to Scalloway. When entering Scalloway take the left fork at the first roundabout.  Continue along Castle Street (signposted to Scalloway Castle) and towards the harbour. The museum is located on the left just before you reach the castle.  Parking is free at the museum.
From Outside Shetland - Options for getting to Shetland are via flights from a number of Scottish airports or an overnight ferry service from Aberdeen. Links to the operators of these services are shown below.
